This is one of the first illustration experiments with my new approach, wich I'm calling a "style reduction" - straight linework (to define shapes) and simplified colors (to define volumes and mood). I'm working on that, as an attempt to "reducing" my visual languages into a more clean/synthetic look, and possibly more broadranging concerning the potential subject matters. This is one of my goals for 2013 (and beyond, of course) - to start simplifying the way I represent my personal visual vocabulary, hopefully keeping my identity to whatever I'm developing.

- The great 28th century alchemist, Gustav Markodomus II. He carries on his mind a great mistery, never to be unfold - a secret protected by ancient sorcery and technological seals.

I really like the shapes. They offset the details and give them greater effect, like in the king of enthropy piece, love that!

I'm not an illustrator. Having said that I don't get the "reducing" here. I still feel this is very complex. Unlike the other piece - Blank -
So I feel like I'm missing something. Would you care to expand on your thougths about this simplification of your visual vocabulary.
