Shaman by rafa-insane
I painted this primarily for the "Barbaria" group show, with the intention of "breaking" the paradigm of the space with a digitally created painting. /// Spoiler: a LOT of contemporary artists are using digital in a variety of forms, so the gallery curator thought it was actually cool to bring this on. Will discuss the avantgarde value of digital paintings on galleries soon... it's a really fascinating subject, and the thing it's already taking over. /// I actually fixed some things I didn't enjoyed and didn't had time to paint, at the time (and rush) of the exhibition, so this might be a "definitive" version, if you will, from the gallery version. Anyway, it's my first "fine arts" digital piece ever.

About this - it's an exploration of a mythology I'm developing, it will start taking form in the coming months/years. No reason to rush it, it's just a personal thing, and I'm truly enjoying the journey. Especially now.

"Shaman", digital painting / 43 X 34 cm ~ around 17 X 13 inches.
Prints wil be available pretty soon.

Now, time to move on to the next.
Master of Nothing by rafa-insane
Master of Nothing

This is a tradigital experiment I've made, with a digitally enhanced oil study. The intention here is to exactly explore the midpoint between the physical marks and its possibilities on the digital realm.

Once I had the idea of experimenting with oil X PS, I left most of details to be added later on the computer, so I just left the oil at the "study" phase.

The original piece will be "finished" again, and will be a part of a small body of work I'm creating for an exhibition (TBA).

Hey you there! ;)

For the people who are into it, here is my INPRNT gallery - totally forgot to post it here, since I'm often asked for prints.…

I'll not get much into details (right now), but I'm starting a new creative endeavour, wich will be creating posters. It's an exciting new journey and that makes the most sense for me, since my storytelling vein was constantly pumping for the opportunity of mixing my passion for movies/music/books, with the challenge of translating their inspiration on me, into a single image.

So... stay tuned for some screenprinting editions releases, because I'll have a bunch of them for you!

All the very best,
  • Listening to: Deadmau5, Muse, Beethoven
  • Drinking: Coffee, always.

WHAT?! Where??

It's one of the articles on the front page, kind of artist showcase. Great article, too, definitely worth a read when you have the time. IIRC they eventually ask what deviants/artists he found inspiring, you were in his top five.  Well deserved, I might add :la:
